French Quarter Hounds Bio

The French Quarter Hounds is a Horn Fusion band based out of Buffalo, NY. The members of the band are all attendees of Kenmore East High School and have been friends since Kindergarten. 

​

Jacob Aguglia is a Junior at Kenmore East, the youngest of the group. He has been playing trumpet for 8 years. His greatest instrumental influences come from Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment and Snarky Puppy, and his vocal influencers are the likes of Brendan Urie and Tyler Joseph. His greatest influence is his father, Phil Aguglia, who is also the Hounds' band director at Kenmore East.

Mike Bunny (Bike Munny) is a Sophmore at SUNY Fredionia, majoring in Classical Guitar Performance and performs in Fredonia's Classical Guitar Quartet. While he has only been playing for 6 years, his talents far exceed this time. He considers his greatest influences to be Guthrie Govan, King Crimson's Robert Fripp, and Bruce Brucato.

 

Nate Kalnitz is a Senior at Kenmore East and has been playing the bass for 8 years. He considers himself to be most proficient in the genre Progressive Rock, taking an extreme interest in mixed meter time signatiures. His playing has been most influenced by Rush's Geddy Lee, Yes' Chris Squire and Jaco Pastorius. He plans on going to college to persue audio engineering.

Kyle Michaels is a Senior at Kenmore East High School and has been playing percussion for over eight years. He excels in drum set work as well as mallet percussion. He has participated in Conference All-State for both orchestral and jazz work. He hopes to go to college for music education and business.

Evan Miller is a Sophmore at SUNY UB. He has been playing the guitar for 8 years and likes to expirement with all genres of music rather than catering his talents to one specific genre. His greatest influences are David Gilmour, Stevie Ray Vaughn and James Hetfeild.

Ryan Stoll is a senior at Kenmore East and has been playing trombone for 8 years. His biggest influences in trombone playing include all the classics like Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, as well as a popular jazz trombonist from New Orleans "Trombone Shorty". Ryan's playing style is more oriented towards jazz fusion funk. After high school Ryan plans to attend college for physical therapy or physicians assistant.

Matthew White is a senior at Kenmore East and has been playing  clarinet and saxohpne for 8 years. He excells on improvising over tunes and on playing any genre of music form smooth jazz to hard rock. He is also a strong clarinet player he made All-Conference on Bass Clarinet. His musical influences are Michael Brecker, Trombone Shorty, Sonny Rollins and Grover Washington Jr. He plans on going to college for Musical Performance.
